X Posts on Psychiatry

This is a collection of my X posts on the topic of psychiatry.

Psychiatry is a religion

The existence of the mind is a belief that is widely held in human society, but a belief nonetheless because the existence of the mind cannot be proven. Therefore, the existence of illnesses of the mind, refered to as mental illnesses, is also a belief, and one that is somewhat less widely held in human society, albeit still widely held. This makes psychiatry by definition a system of beliefs, and therefore by definition a religion, not a science. Psychiatry is likely the most popular religion of all human religions. People can have multiple religions as long as the beliefs do not contradict each other. This would all be fine, except for the fact that psychiatry is posing as a science and most people believe that the beliefs that come along with psychiatry are facts, when in fact they are not. Perhaps worst of all is that psychiatry appears to want to be the only religion, because it is leveraging what are thought of professional opinions to state that specific human beliefs are delusions without any evidence to prove they are false. Hereby, psychiatry is in direct violation of international human rights laws that protect the freedom to believe. For now, psychiatry is only attacking unpopular beliefs that most people think are crazy, such as telepathy, aliens, ghosts, others being out to harm you, etc. But if psychiatry is already attacking people who believe they can talk to other beings proven to be real in their heads, a day will come when psychiatry will attack people who believe they can talk to beings not proven to be real in their heads. In essence, a day will come when psychiatry will attack people for praying. A day when psychiatry will come after mainstream beliefs and religions. That day may still be decades or centuries away, but that day will come if nothing is done.

The most evil hoax in the history of mankind

Psychiatry and big pharma are working hand in hand to profit off of the suffering of human beings.

Emotional suffering is real. However, there is zero scientific backing for the existence of mental illnesses. Zero. Psychiatrists convince people they have a mental illness and convince them they have to take psychiatric drugs to manage it, handing big pharma a new customer for life.🤑🤑🤑

This is the perhaps the most evil hoax in the history of mankind.

If you're a psychiatrist, you may want to change profession, because if you meet a wise, benevolent being upon your death, he is not going to look kindly upon your life's actions.

The top 2 issues with psychiatry

Lack of complete understanding =/= false is a valid point, but the two main issues with psychiatry are: 1) Mental Health laws that allow involuntary confinement and involuntary altering of brain chemistry. Involuntary altering of someone's brain chemistry in particular is a HORRIBLE crime. The world sees it as helping a suffering individual, but no one has to be locked up or strapped down for an appendectomy. The legal treshold to lock people up, strap them down, and inject drugs into them is criminally low in some places, even though imo that should not be legal under any circumstances. 2) Psychiatry is lying to the world and deceiving it. Most of the world thinks going to a psychiatrist is like going to a doctor for your mind/emotions, and psychiatry benefits from this. But whereas real doctors have a complete understanding when they diagnose something, and a complete understanding when they prescribe a treatment (with perhaps a few rare exceptions), psychiatrists do not. All psychiatrists have is: this thing influences that thing, and this drug most commonly has those effects. If psychiatry wants to continue to exist in this world, it needs to be honest about how little it understands, how highly experimental it is, and ALL "treatment" needs to be voluntary. Only then can people make informed decisions about whether to see a psychiatrist or not. Involuntary "treatment" = torture/rape. Yes, SSRIs alter mood, so does cocaine. I'd argue a person who just lost his entire family in a plane crash would do well not to deny his/her emotions and process them rather than alter them via SSRIs. Taking drugs to alter your mood is like denying reality. Mood/emotions/feelings are real and there are reasons for them. You may prefer to feel happy and joyful all the time and never feel sad, but that's just not how the world is. Drugging humanity until it feels good is going to make a lot of real existing problems in the world overlooked. Wake up, there are many things wrong in the world, and probably in your (inner) world as well. To deny your own emotions is to deny reality.

Psychiatry

The world believes psychiatry is a profession that helps cure the mentally ill, but this couldn’t be further from the truth.

What psychiatry really is is an institution that’s allowed to dictate what behaviours, emotions, and beliefs are socially acceptable. A top athlete who’s obsessed with being the best in the world? Socially acceptable hyperfocus. A child that’s obsessed with video games or other things its parents doesn’t want it to spend time on? Socially unacceptable hyperfocus and therefore ADHD that needs to be treated… in the opinion of psychiatrists, and therefore in the eyes of the world. A person that believes in god and praying? Socially acceptable. A person that believes in telepathy? He/she’s hearing voices and gets labeled as delusional by psychiatrists and seen as crazy in the eyes of the world. To declare a person’s behaviour and beliefs socially unacceptable is already really bad, but to declare a person’s emotions socially unacceptable or to be crossing a line equates to declaring that person him/herself as socially unacceptable. I personally cannot think of something more hateful or destructive than that. Do we really want psychiatry and psychiatrists to have this kind of power over society? To me it’s clear that psychiatry is an evil that needs to be eradicated.

Comparing a psychiatric diagnosis to a medical diagnosis

If a doctor says you have a broken bone, you can verify that via an x-ray or by cutting open a person's body and looking at said broken bone. If a psychiatrist says you have a mental illness, that's that. Think about what kind of power this gives psychiatrists. It's entirely at the discretion of psychiatrists who is and who isn't mentally ill.

Psychiatry is in direct violation of international human rights laws

Psychiatry is in direct violation of international human rights laws by leveringing what are thought of as expert opinions to state that specific human beliefs are delusions.

Per the Oxford Dictionary, what makes a belief is the absence of evidence. Therefore, in order for a belief to be a delusion, one would have to be able to prove that it is false. It is incredibly hard to prove that anything is false. One example is telepathy.

If someone believes in telepathy, psychiatrists will label that belief as a delusion. Aside from the fact that the existence of telepathy cannot be disproven, if the belief that one can talk in one's head to an individual proven to exist is delusional, what does this make the belief that one can talk in one's head to an individual not proven to exist? Is the belief that one can talk to god a delusion? Are all religions delusional? Psychiatry appears to think so.

Comparing Involuntary Cosmetic Surgery vs Involuntary Altering of Brain Chemistry

How would you react if one person performed cosmetic surgery on another person against that person's will because he/she didn't like the way that person looked? That would be insane and a horrible crime, right? Then how come no one bats an eye when a psychiatrist locks someone up in a mental health hospital against their will and alters that person's brain chemistry until the psychiatrist is no longer unsatisfied with that person's behaviour, emotions, and beliefs?

The power of psychiatrists who work in mental health hospitals

It's not considered okay for one person to claim to know what is best for a country and be soleley in charge of a country against that country's will. We refer to this as a dictatorship and I don't know anyone who wants to live in a dictatorship. It is considered okay for one person to claim to know what is best for a human being and be solely in charge of a human being against its will, when the former is a psychiatrist and the latter an individual locked up in a mental health facility.
